About This Event

✨ Culture. Community. Connection. ✨

You’re invited to celebrate with us at Anavai O Te Ora’s 4th Annual Student Showcase!

Join us Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Fort Vancouver High School for a day filled with island culture, local flavors, and an unforgettable performance.

🌺 FREE Market & Food Court | 1:00 – 5:00 PM

Wander through our free market featuring local small businesses, island-inspired goods, and ono-licious eats. Grab a lei for your dancer, enjoy the music, and soak in the energy of community coming together.

💃 Student Showcase | 5:30 – 7:00 PM

When the lights dim, the story begins.

This year’s showcase follows Mareva, a young dancer moving beneath bright lights and loud applause, yet quietly searching for herself. Pulled between the expectations of the world and the call of something older, she is visited in a dream by her grandmother and guided back to the land that remembers her name. Through roots, wind, and ancestral wisdom, Mareva learns that she is never alone, and that tradition is her strength and foundation, keeping her steady as she moves through the world.

Traditional Tahitian storytelling is brought to life through 'Ori Tahiti, live drumming, and music performed by Anavai O Te Ora's dancers and orchestra.

✨ Come early to enjoy the market and snag the best seats. This is a night you won’t want to miss!
